Create health not disease –It’s your choice! Here is a way to do it. Understanding the chakras can help you to discover your essential self. Chakra literally translates as “wheel” and refers to a spinning wheel of bio-energy, branching from the spinal column in and around your major nerve ganglia. There are seven major chakras stacked from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each Chakra correlates to a state of consciousness as well as a specific psychological aspect. Briefly, the psychological functions affected are as follows:

  1. Survival
  2. Sexuality
  3. Power
  4. Love
  5. Communication
  6. Intuition
  7. Cognition

When the chakras receive an unimpeded flow of energy, we are able to maintain health. When there are blockages and interruptions of energy, the resulting stress will often create dis-ease. Chakras are not physical; and like feelings or ideas they cannot be held, yet they have a strong effect on the body. Their energetic patterns have a strong relationship with our physical functioning. Just as emotions affect our breathing, metabolism, and heart rate, incessant negative emotions affect the various chakras and in turn influence our glandular processes, chronic physical ailments, thoughts and behavior.

By using techniques such as yoga, breathing, physical exercise, meditation and visualization we can in turn influence our chakras, our health, and our lives. Create health, be a self-cleaning oven and keep your thoughts positive. It’s always your choice!
