Canyon Ranch - Tucson
Another year is winding down and it’s time to take stock. What did you think you’d achieve and how close did you get?
We often set goals which seem unrealistic in retrospect. So maybe you didn’t climb Mt. Everest, discover the cure for cellulite or unite the world in peaceful harmony. But you probably had your share of wonderful moments and
gained insights that made you better and wiser.
While New Year’s resolutions are often broken (guaranteed with a list that’s too long, rigid, or beyond your abilities), there’s still value in assessing the past and looking ahead.
Sometimes the hardest part about resolutions is getting around to making them, so here are some ideas to get you started:
Forgive mistakes, cherish achievements and give yourself (and others) credit for each baby step in the right direction.
Try a new sport, exercise program or leisure activity that excites and challenges you.
Learn to cook one fabulous, low-fat meal to dazzle in-laws, captains of industry and other discriminating drop-ins.
Strive for balance in mind, body and spirit…home, work and play…duty, pleasure and adventure.
Reward yourself with an amazing present – a ticket on the space shuttle, a Picasso or a puppy.
Share your gifts, get passionate about a cause, make the world better.
Become a Zen master or seek peace in whichever way suits you.
Boldly go where you have never gone before.
