Research has long praised the beneficial effects of meditation for our minds, our bodies, and of course our spirit. Here are some inspiring words from our head yoga instructor, Anna Walsemann, on getting into your meditation practice.

Make sure you sit comfortable and stable.
Take a deep breath, exhale with a sigh.
Close your eyes.
Settle into your body, feel your body.

The hard part in meditation is to sit still.
Therefore, when you begin a meditation,
Be comfortable, sit in a chair if that feels best.

Closing the eyes brings you already inward.
We live in very noisy world, going inward gets you in touch with yourself, meditation is a good tool to use.
Not a goal, just a tool.

Take a few minutes, to close your eyes
And settle into your body.
Drop the lower jaw, separate the upper and lower teeth, lips closed.
Breathe through your nose.

Normal breath. Focus on your breath,
No thinking,
No judgements,
Focus!

When you find yourself thinking: catch your mind, bring the mind back to your focus.
When you catch you mind thinking,
On that moment, you are awake!
You are awake for a split second!

Now you know what you are thinking,
You can filter out negative thoughts.
When you filter out negative thoughts,
You are at the source of healing,
Mind, body, soul, and spirit!

A very practical exercise, you can use all day.
Practice all day; filter out negative thoughts.
It will change your life!

Discipline your mind, you'll discipline your body.
To strengthen the body, strengthen the mind.

Give yourself time, make time,
Nobody can do it for you.

Find your own strength.

Before going to sleep is a good time.
Of course, early morning is a good time!
When you feel tired, it is a good time.
When you feel exhausted, it is a good time.

Try it out,
You have your own healing.
In your own hands, mind, and body.
