Chiva-Som Sets a New World Standard

Dedicated to total wellbeing and harmony of mind, body and spirit, Chiva-Som is always looking at ways to improve our service. The latest enhancement is the result of investment to create 19 new treatment rooms and 18 renovated rooms. Combined with the existing treatment rooms this provides guests a total of 70 treatment rooms. This means Chiva-Som is the first destination spa / health resort in the world to exceed a ratio of more than 1:1 treatment rooms to guestrooms.
Paul Linder, General Manager is delighted with the renovation and comments: "I am so proud that Chiva-Som goes from strength to strength and we have so much more to offer for the years to come. The new decor is simple and elegant and these new rooms will allow us to provide the highest standard of service and comfort in a tailor made environment. Now we have 70 treatment rooms and 57 guestrooms, we are able to deliver treatments at a time that is suitable to each guest rather than at a time that is suitable to us!"
Chiva-Som already provides more than 150 different treatments with over 85 qualified practitioners. However, guest feedback showed a demand for even greater flexibility, so investment in new treatment rooms was made a priority. Situated within the health and wellness area of the resort, Chiva-Som's private treatment rooms include , 6 physiotherapy rooms, including a rehabilitation studio, 9 holistic rooms, 6 consultation/diagnostic rooms, 2 colonic hydrotherapy rooms and 45 spa treatment rooms, including 4 'couples rooms' for simultaneous couples massage , 1 watsu pool and 1 medi-spa treatment room
New treatments and new retreats
During 2007, Chiva-Som launched Deep Hand Massage, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Chakra Healing, Channelled Energy Healing and Myotherapy Healing (for back problems). In early 2008 Chiva-Som will launch Maya Massage (a deep colon cleansing massage) and in addition, nine new retreats are available, including the innovative Holistic Health Retreat. Designed for those who wish to understand their current state of health from a more holistic perspective, specialists can reveal areas of weakness and strength.
