Green Mountain at Fox Run is launching a new class series on the highly debated subject of Food Addiction. This series focuses on the changes in brain reward circuitry that can cause addictive habits/patterns with food. While some differences in how a person responds to food may be inherent, we also look at the changes that we can create in our reward response to food through certain damaging habits, such as binge eating, dieting, over-eating on highly processed foods (especially high-sugar foods), frequent emotional eating, chronic stress and how it changes brain response to food, and much more. Strategies for managing habits with food that feel addictive will be presented to help those struggling with an unhealthy eating patterns make peace with food and put them back in control of their eating patterns versus feeling like food controls them.

Food Addiction Series:

  • Food Addiction, Is it All In Your Head (or in your brain)?
  • The Causes of Food Addiction: Can I Blame My Mom for This?
  • The Foods of Food Addiction: This is Food; this is Your Brain on Food. Any Questions?
