No equipment necessary, nor is formal training, past experience, or your shoes, for that matter. Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that leads to health, wellness and fitness. It empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Nia draws from disciplines of the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts, including Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Jazz and Modern Dance, and Yoga and the Feldenkrais Method. Every class offers a unique combination of 52 moves that correspond with the main areas of the body: the base, the core and the upper extremities. "New to exercise" beginners and athletes alike can adapt Nia to meet their needs by choosing from three intensity levels.

It's about fun, feeling good and strengthening your mind, body and spirit. Your emotions will smile and you'll be back for more as you build endurance, improve muscle tone and strength, find improved concentration, better posture and recognize that this just makes you feel good all over. Nia is an outward expression of all that is Green Mountain.
There's music, gentle movement and joy.
