FireFighters

During Thanksgiving week, Golden Door staff gave a special experience to nine California Department of Forestry fire fighters. They were invited to spend a half-day at the renowned destination spa as a way for the Golden Door to express its appreciation for their courageous work during recent fires.

The Golden Door day began for three of the fire fighters with a relaxing massage. Next, Golden Door estheticians provided facials and pedicures. For Fire Captain Matt Streck, who incurred an injury under his left eye from a hot ember, the treatments rejuvenated him.

Fire fighter Alicia Perry apologized to Golden Door's Teresa Trinh during a soothing pedicure treatment. "I have to apologize for my feet" Alicia said, "I normally take good care of my feet, but for the past weeks I have been on my feet all day long, day after day." Teresa took special care of the fire fighters feet, and finished by painting a beautiful flower on Alicia's toenail.

Six more CDF fire fighters arrived for lunch as all nine joined the Golden Door guests for lunch served poolside. Chef Dean served delicious Golden Door pizza with vegetables grown in the Golden Door's organic garden. Spa guests were thrilled with the experience of sitting among the fire fighters and hearing their description of battles waged on the fire lines. Lunch concluded with dozens of Golden Door staff extending a group thank you and round of applause, and a gift bag of Golden Door skin care products was presented to each fire fighter.
